ABOUT THE PROJECT

Untitled New Horizons Project is a virtual exhibition curated by Sophia of Min Yoongi Island, hosted on the virtual realm of Animal Crossing: New Horizons.

The exhibition is organised through an open-call process, and artists and collaborators from anywhere in the world are invited to submit expressions of interest. Anyone can submit a work, not just those who are playing the game.

Min Yoongi Island will be open to visitors by appointment to view the exhibition. The exhibition will also be documented and shared online.

Disclaimer: Animal Crossing is a registered trademark of Nintendo. This is a not-for-profit fan project that is not affiliated with Nintendo.

FURTHER DETAILS

  • There will be a limit of 10 artworks exhibited at any given time

  • There is no set deadline and applications are accepted on a rolling basis via email.

  • Artworks can take the form of custom designs, customised in-game items, or artworks created using in-game items. Performance or participatory artworks are also possible. Artists will need to provide their own items or materials.

  • All custom designs must be original and created by the artist.

  • Artist fees will be paid in the form of bells (in-game currency) or otherwise negotiated with artist.

  • Min Yoongi island will be open to visitors via Dodo code once a week to view the exhibition.

HOW TO PARTICIPATE

If you have access to Animal Crossing New Horizons, there are a number of ways you can be involved:

  1. You can exhibit a custom design, or a work using existing items and customisation options in the game.

  2. You could donate bells to go towards artist fees, or materials for artists to use for their work.

  3. You can visit the exhibition during the opening hours

If you do not have access to Animal Crossing New Horizons, you can still create a work for display. Head to Animal Crossing Pattern Tool to create a custom design, which you can share via QR code. Exhibitions will also be shared here for everyone to view.
